Budapest, Hungary / Hamburg, Germany 1 June 2007 – Kerry Logistics – the Chinese logistics provider – has realized its strategy to establish a national company in Hungary, thus completing the entire roll-out in Central Europe as planned. Hungarian customers now have a direct global connection to international and above all Asian procurement and distribution markets. Zsolt Szabo (36) is the Managing Director of the new national company and Budapest branch. Kerry Logistics is one of the first Chinese logistics companies in eastern Europe and offers its customers a Hungarian management coupled with over 20 years’ experience as one of China’s biggest logistics providers.
The new branch is located at Budapest airport and provides a connection to Kerry Logistics’ 226 branches worldwide, also reaching into the Chinese hinterland.
Zsolt Szabo will manage the new national company and its first branch. “Hungarian customers now have direct contacts on the spot for air and sea freight as well as overland transport services with the focus on Asia and China. In China, Kerry Logistics operates almost entirely on a self-contracting basis. That helps to save costs. Across China, the company has more than 4,000 members of staff, 2,000 vehicles and Asia-wide over 1.1 million square metres of warehouse capacity of its own to meet practically all customer requirements,” says Szabo. “In the past few years, Hungary has shown strong economic growth. We aim to support this development by providing gap-free access to Asia and by offering our customers greater competitiveness through a wide range of services,” explains Albert Klamert, Managing Director Austria and Eastern Europe, who is developing the Hungarian national company from his base in Austria.
“We aim to become one of the top players in Asian logistics. Kerry Logistics offers its customers value added, for example through extensive sourcing as well as new sales markets. We have accomplished the central European roll-out as planned. We are now present for our customers in the key European markets and have also created a large number of jobs,” comments Michael Dieckmann, Managing Director Central Europe at Kerry Logistics.
The Chinese logistics company Kerry Logistics has branches of its own in ten European countries. Kerry Logistics offers its European customers single-source solutions for Asia in production and distribution processes, sourcing, contract logistics and new sales markets. With 6,000 employees around the world, a full-coverage Chinese network with over 700 licenses, 1.1 million sq. m. of warehouse capacity of its own and gap-free IT systems, Kerry Logistics offers individually customized logistics solutions focusing on China and Asia.
